Can we officially change will.i.am's name to "will.i.am gonna take over the entire planet with all the PHENOMENAL collabos coming from my next album, #willpower," already? OK, maybe that's a little long-winded, but between the recent release of Will's "Fall Down" with Miley Cyrus and now this EPIC, dubstep-friendly dance smash with K-pop supergroup 2NE1 in "Gettin' Dumb,"
we're pretty sure that Will is already #winning, and the album hasn't
even dropped yet (but it will on April 23!). Blackjacks (those are 2NE1
superfans, btw), it's time to LOSE YOUR ISH.
Listen to will.i.am featuring 2NE1, "Gettin' Dumb" after the jump."Gettin Dumb" isn't a song about loosing IQ points, but based on the up-tempo dance beat, it's more an homage to nights when you're ready to lose your mind on the dance floor. Heavy piano riffs ride cozy along a trancelike vibe, and soon the melody sways into the sweet voices of will.i.am and 2NE1, which whisk us away to dance floor heaven. And just when you're about to pull out your glow sticks, 2NE1's leader, CL, pounces in with a semi-NSFW verse over a hip-hop beat: "Get your hair done/ Get a wig b**** extensions get pretty pretty/ Get it get it girl get your nails done supermodel honey is the outcome." Um, is this K-pop or K-POW?! (Final note: Watch out for a small Black Eyed Peas reunion when Will's co-Pea apl.de.ap adds a verse to the track!)
So, basically (if you're STILL not getting it) this tune is pretty much the smartest song EVER to get dumb to in da club. Also, dear world: We want SO MANY MORE brilliant K-Pop collabos like these!
