[130523] Update on CL’s First Solo: “Bad Girl” – is it the same as Lee Hyori’s “Bad Girls”?

With the release date on th 28th, girl group 2NE1‘s leader CL (22) has released information on her first solo song. The title is “Bad Girl” [t/n: different mood than Lee Hyori's mood of 'bad girls', "기집애" could be considered to be a non-swear word version of 'b****'. It's often used between close friends.], and has a slow (70BPM) hip hop style as its genre.
Along with the above, YG Entertainment released on the 23rd via their official blog that “‘Bad Girl’ has a BPM of 70 and is a very slow hip hop beat with little difference from a ballad. Modern sounds such as the Dougie and dub step match well with CL’s strong rapping style.”

“How much CL strongly expresses this slow hip hop song is its point as well as strategy.”

Recently CL has received personal training for the song and choreography in Japan. She also constantly attended all ten music video conferences and personally contributed ideas to the set designs.

For its english title, YG has chosen “BAD GIRL”. They explained that though the name is the same as Lee Hyori’s recent song “BAD GIRLS” from her 5th Album, there was no other way to express the title.

YG has decided to refrain from releasing any music video  and audio teasers before the release date.
