Mnet ‘M Countdown”s Indonesia Concert, scheduled for next week, has been canceled.
On the 3rd of July, ‘M Countdown’ had planned for a special performance in Jakarta, Indonesia’s ‘MEIS’ (Mata Elang International Stadium) but due to a unfavorable situation, there was a emergency cancellation. This was decided a mere five days before the overseas event.
The concert had garnered attention as a huge KPOP performance. Last month, the production team announced this event explaining their high expectations for it even more so because of the 40th anniversary of the relationship between South Korea and Indonesia (2013 Korea-Indonesia Friendship Year). They also viewed this as opportunity to expand the cultural exchange between the two countries.
Since last year, ‘M Countdown’ held a global tour within Japan, Thailand, and even Taiwan last April, however this event would have been the first to be held in Indonesia.
The lineup was impressive as well. With legendary idol Shinhwa, and 2NE1, 2PM, B2ST, MBLQ, Sistar, Secret, After School, B1A4, Teen Top, 4Minute, Roy Kim, and Verbal Jint – many popular artists who are currently experience explosive popularity were scheduled to make appearances.
‘M Countdown’ was preparing interesting collaborations between Indonesian and KPOP artists, but this has been unfortunately postponed for the future.
