[130627] Chart Report: CL’s The Baddest Female stays on GAON’s Top 40 for a month

It’s now been a month since CL‘s first solo single ”The Baddest Female‘ was released. With TV promotions ending this week with a remix version of the song and 2NE1 filming the MV for their new single,  a chart report is warranted.

‘The Baddest Female’ has managed to stay in the top 40 on GAON for 4 weeks, continuing to gain over 1 million streams per week. By next week it should hit 50 million DAs and half a million downloads despite falling off the mobile top 100 chart in its 4th week. As 2NE1 gears up for a comeback, CL’s solo may see a boost or it may fall as attention is diverted to the new song. We will have to wait and see. Reflected in its 5th GAON week will be any boost CL’s performance of the remix on Inkigayo may have had.

On the Billboard Kpop Hot 100, CL fell to #41 in her 4th week and then #59 her fifth, perhaps because it isn’t getting much airplay which is a factor in Billboard’s rankings. She also hasn’t done any radio promotions which would have helped her ranking. Any Blackjacks in Korea can help support her by requesting the song on their local radio stations.

With only one more full week in June left to report, GAON will be releasing their first half of the year Top 200. With about a month to chart, how do you think CL will rank? Will she make the top 100? Stay tuned to YGLadies to find out all the details!
