[130609] CL is “The Baddest Female” on Inkigayo taking home the win despite controversies + Mutizen criteria clarification

CL is “The Baddest Female” as she performs her second stage on Inkigayo & takes home the win!

After an awesome debut stage last week, CL continued to show her swag on her second Inkigayo stage, performing “The Baddest Female” after a short interview to promote mobile voting of the song at the start of the show. “The Baddest Female” was up against B2st‘s pre-release and Lee Hyori‘s “Bad Girl“. Some viewers were upset to see CL among the nominated artists, that did not put a damper in CL’s joy.

First, appearing in a white sleeveless shirt with red sweats, hair pulled back in a loose braid & gold grills to complete the look, the 2NE1 leader drew in fans with her unique brand of stage presence.  Joined on stage again by Japanese dance crew LOLKIDZ who showed their moves during the dance break, CL came out in the second half of the song dressed to the nines in an elegant & sassy white leotard & Just Cavalli long jacket. Some of you commented that her long hair was a distraction in her first performance, looks like CL thought so as well, she went with a braided ponytail for the performance.

The second half of CL’s performance led to the night’s second controversy, her leotard outfit. Viewers claimed that the outfit was too provocative and looked like she was just wearing underwear on stage. Her fans defended her by saying, “Beyonce and other pop stars wear outfits like this all the time” and “It looked cool.”

To the criticism CL told Sports Seoul, ”I’m not really pressured about revealing clothing. I just wear anything as long as it looks cool or it looks pretty.“

Translations for these tweets here & here.

While fans were urged by 2NE1′s Official Twitter @GlobalBlackjack & Dara alike on Twitter to support CL in live voting, we were all still just as shocked as CL when she took home the win, her very first solo award!  The leader could not suppress her happiness as she gave her thanks while accepting her very first award for “The Baddest Female”.

CL’s win led to the night’s third controversy CL’s win. SBS’ mutizen criteria is pretty straightforward, however the chart they broadcast on the show is somewhat misleading. If you look column A music sales, B2ST has the highest number, which makes sense as their song was #1 on GAON this past week.

However, column B which is the pre-show SNS ranking CL has a huge advantage. Column B includes Facebook 15%, Twitter 25% ,Youtube 40%, and me2day 20% posts. Even from Youtube alone CL has a huge advantage over the other two songs as she is already headed to 5 Million views (2Million just in the past week) on her music video not to mention another million for last week’s live stage upload. B2ST’s MV has only 350,000 views total (most of which were gained back during the initial release of the song) . Hyori’s music video hasn’t reached 2Million yet and it was released several weeks ago. Thus, between that and YGE’s flood of Tweets, Me2Day and Facebook posts for the song, CL clearly dominated this criteria.

As expected, B2ST’s fangirls dominated in the advance pre-voting category (column C). Fortunately for CL this category is worth only 5% of the pre-show vote. The next column, column D is the total pre-show score that determines who the Top 3 artists are with a chance for a mutizen. It’s just the total of Columns A-C.

Column E is the live mobile voting & and live SNS score. It adds all the SMS text voting and SNS tweeting/trending while the show is airing.  Again, B2ST came out on top, but it wasn’t enough to overcome CL’s huge lead from SNS pre-show.

Hopefully this clarifies for those who were concerned that there were discrepancies in the ranking. Basically, CL had high enough SNS numbers and sales that were not that much lower than B2ST so she was able to come out ahead.

As we mentioned, CL herself did not hid her glee and joyfully said her thank yous and shared in a fun spazz fest for her Encore stage.

As Dara & the dancers came on stage to celebrate with CL during the encore, it appeared that other performers also wanted to stay and join in the fun as well.  ^^

Right after the win, Dara took to her Twitter & posted a proofshot of being CL’s fanclub president with CL’s flag that she waved during the encore.  Bom also sent her congrats via Twitter  to her leader!

Congrats to CL on another awesome stage & the win!
